AirFiber vs Fiber in Ludhiana: which should you choose?

What Fiber gives you

Wipra Broadband’s Fiber network is built for apartments and societies. It comes as a wired connection with speed up to 500 Mbps, and every plan includes local and national calling. There are three Fiber plans: FIBER@499 (50 GB/day at full speed, then unlimited at 10 Mbps), FIBER@899 (100 GB/day, plus 20+ OTT apps), and FIBER@1699 (200 GB/day, plus 20+ OTT apps). All three are unlimited — once the daily high-speed quota is used, the connection continues at 10 Mbps rather than stopping.

What AirFiber gives you

AirFiber is wireless internet delivered from Wipra’s 10G-enabled RF towers, and it’s built to work within 1 km of one of those towers. AirFiber networks are adaptable and expandable, which is one reason Wipra can offer it where laying fiber cable isn’t practical. There are three AirFiber plans: AIRFIBER@2999 (100 GB/day at full speed, then unlimited at 10 Mbps), AIRFIBER@4999 (truly unlimited) and AIRFIBER@7999 (truly unlimited). Every AirFiber plan — all three — includes 1 static IP with P2P mode, which Fiber plans do not list.

AIRFIBER@7999 also comes with a standing offer: a second connection on the same plan, free, at your home or your other unit (installation charges still depend on feasibility).

Coverage: who can actually get which

Fiber depends on whether Wipra’s fiber network reaches your building — it’s aimed at apartments and societies. AirFiber depends on distance from a tower: Wipra runs 10G-enabled RF towers at 32 locations, and AirFiber plans are built for customers within 1 km of one. Between the two, Wipra Broadband covers all of Ludhiana and about 50–100 km around it. If you’re not sure which of the two reaches your address, or you’re outside the named areas, a call or WhatsApp message will confirm it — Wipra says it probably reaches you too even outside the specifically listed areas.

What’s the same on both

Neither Fiber nor AirFiber charges a security deposit. Installation charges depend on feasibility on both — there’s no fixed installation fee published for either, since it depends on your site. All equipment on both stays company property, and any damage to it is chargeable. Billing works the same way too: bills are generated on the 1st of every month, the due date is the 10th, and an unpaid connection is temporarily suspended after that (reactivated within 4 hours maximum of payment). You can upgrade your plan on either network at any time.

Which should you pick?

• Pick Fiber if you live in an apartment or society that Wipra’s fiber network already reaches, you want the lowest starting price, and you want local + national calling and (on the ₹899/₹1699 plans) 20+ OTT apps bundled in.
• Pick AirFiber if you’re within 1 km of one of Wipra’s towers, you specifically need a static IP with P2P mode (for example, for CCTV/NVR remote access or a small server — see our static IP guide), or you want a truly unlimited plan without a daily quota.
